The Angel and the Orphan
An amazing little book about the power of love.
It is based on the TRUE story of a pulitzer prize winning photograph of an orphan face down in the desert, alone while a vulture waited behind her. The photographer's name was Kevin Carter. He took the photo and left the baby behind to die. Haunted by what he had done, he killed himself. I needed to change the story, to imagine what would have happened had Kevin Carter done the right thing. The Angel & The Orphan is that story.*
